LG G3 OLED TV review

Introduction: LG G3 OLED TV review. The LG G3 OLED is the top-tier TV in LG’s 2023 OLED lineup, sitting above the generally more popular ‘C’ series LG C3 OLED and the entry-level OLED ‘B’ series LG B3 OLED, but the 8k LG Below is the Z3 OLED. OLED TVs like the LG OLED G3 are about to leave themselves.

Unlike LCD panels noticed on other TVs, there is no backlight. Instead, an OLED’s pixels can change their brightness levels individually and independently of others, allowing them to display near-perfect contrast with deep inky blacks and bright blacks. There are no openings or halos around objects. Like the LG G2 OLED, it doesn’t come with a TV stand and is meant to be mounted on the wall with a slim mount.

The LG G3 TV is a remarkable addition to the world of televisions, offering a captivating viewing experience that surpasses expectations. This review will delve into the different features and capabilities of this innovative TV model from LG. With its cutting-edge technology, sleek design, and impressive performance, the LG G3 TV has quickly become a favorite among consumers seeking an immersive entertainment experience.

LG G3 OLED TV review

The LG G3 OLED is a fantastic TV with no fundamental weaknesses. Its excellent brightness in both SDR and HDR makes it well-suited for watching TV shows or classic movies in SDR to the latest hits in HDR.

When combined with fantastic reflection handling, the TV’s high brightness makes it suitable for any room condition, from very bright rooms where its brightness shines through to dark spaces where its OLED panel shines, with perfect contrast and deep inks.

It’s very low input lag makes it perfect for gaming, as your inputs are translated to the screen almost instantly, and its excellent response time makes it perfect for fans of fast-paced content. It makes a choice; the action remains whether it’s a game. Clean and crisp throughout. It supports every gaming feature you can think of, and it also supports almost every audio format.

Display and Picture Quality

At the heart of the LG G3 TV is its stunning display. Boasting a large, vibrant 4K OLED panel, this TV brings movies, TV shows, and games to life with breathtaking clarity and vividness. The 4K resolution ensures that every detail is rendered precisely, offering a level of visual fidelity that is hard to match.

The OLED technology enhances the overall picture quality, delivering deep blacks and vibrant colors that pop off the screen. The G3 TV’s high dynamic range (HDR) support further adds to the visual excellence, providing a broader range of colors and improved contrast.

Design and Build Quality

The LG G3 TV is a masterpiece of design. It features a sleek and slim profile with minimal bezels, creating an immersive viewing experience that draws you in from the moment you turn it on. The build quality is fantastic, with sturdy construction that exudes durability. The TV can be easily mounted on a wall or placed on a stand, offering flexibility in placement options.

Including HDMI and USB ports ensures seamless connectivity with other devices, making connecting gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, or streaming devices convenient.

Frequency response and distortion

The TV has surprisingly good frequency response, at least for a TV. The TV has an integrated 4.2 speaker system, which provides a certain amount of surround sound experience. Sadly, like most TVs, it lacks in a bass unit. That’s too bad, as otherwise, sound holds up on the LG G3, managing to sound good even up to the TV’s maximum volume.

This TV has decent distortion performance. The speakers are good at handling distortion when fed multiple simultaneous frequencies, as seen in their low levels of intermodulation distortion. It does not perform well when dealing with distortion from individual fundamental frequencies (THD). IMD sounds worse to human ears than THD, so this TV sounds pleasant overall, as its intermodulation distortion level is outstanding.

Input Lag

The TV supports FreeSync, HDMI Forum VRR and is compatible with G-SYNC, ensuring a nearly tear-free gaming experience from any VRR-enabled source. It works well over a wide range of refresh rates, even when it’s too low because the TV supports Low Frame Rate Compensation (LFC).

There is some jitter when VRR is enabled, as reported on the LG C2 OLED in 2022. This is noticeable on a near-black screen in low and fluctuating frame rate conditions.

Smart Features and User Interface

LG has equipped the G3 TV with an intuitive, feature-rich, innovative interface that enhances the user experience. The webOS platform is fast, responsive, and easy to navigate, allowing users to easily access their favorite apps, streaming services, and settings.

The Magic Remote adds a touch of convenience, enabling voice control and intuitive cursor navigation. The TV also offers a range of smart features, including built-in Wi-Fi, screen sharing, and content mirroring, enabling seamless connectivity and casting from smartphones and tablets.

Audio Performance

The LG G3 TV delivers an impressive audio experience that complements its stunning visuals. With its powerful built-in speakers, the TV produces an immersive sound that fills the room.

The Dolby Atmos support further enhances the audio performance, creating a three-dimensional soundstage that envelops the viewer. Whether you’re watching an action-packed movie or hearing to music, the audio quality of the G3 TV will undoubtedly impress.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the LG G3 TV is a top-tier television that excels in every aspect. From its breathtaking display and immersive sound to its innovative design and smart features, this TV model offers an unrivaled entertainment experience. The combination of 4K OLED technology, HDR support, and Dolby Atmos audio ensures that every detail is presented with astonishing clarity and realism.

The smart features and user-friendly interface make it easy to access your favorite content, while the build quality and design add a touch of elegance to any living space. If you’re in the market for a high-end TV that delivers exceptional performance, the LG G3 TV should be at the top of your list.
