Friedrich Nietzsche: A Look at his Life and Work

Early Years and Education Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche was born on October 15, 1844 in Röcken, a small town in Prussia, present-day Germany. Coming from a family of theological tradition, his father was a Lutheran pastor who died when Nietzsche was only five years old. This fact, together with the subsequent death of his younger brother, deeply marked his early years.
