What is FHD resolution? Full HD explained. Full High Definition, or Full HD or FHD for short, is a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The resolution explains how many pixels a screen has in length x width format (the more, the better when choosing a PC, TV or mobile monitor).
FHD displays are also known as 1080p.
2022 has made it clear that technology will continue to advance and that there is more and more new content to see. The resolution of a screen is an important component when enjoying any device. The HD resolution came to revolutionize the way of observing content and has now been improved with the Full HD version.
Today we will explain everything you need to know about this type of resolution so you can enjoy it to the fullest and take advantage of it on all your favorite devices.
What is the Resolution?
Let’s start with the simplest.
Each screen has a level of definition in its images that allows you to observe the content with high quality. The resolution is available on computers, phones, televisions and projectors. You can measure the resolution based on the number of pixels expressed from the top and width of the screen. Normally, you see it expressed with a number followed by an “X” and another number (Example: 1280 x 720 pixels).
You can also set resolution to the total number of pixels displayed on a screen. The more pixels a screen displays, the better the level of resolution being expressed. Dense pixels are capable of displaying a greater amount of detail per video than those that are smaller.
Now what is full HD?
Full HD is a type of image resolution that is expressed on screens of televisions, cell phones or even monitors. It is known as full HD to the resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels per height and width. The number of pixels expressed is quite high and so the definition of the image will be much better.
To measure pixels it is necessary to estimate the height and width of everything. If an observation device such as a TV or monitor tells you that it has a resolution of 1920 x 1080p then it is expressing its width and height respectively. Therefore, when multiplying both values, the total number of pixels that can be displayed properly is 2073600.
What are the differences between HD and Full HD?
It is common to think that HD and Full HD are the same. But, to everyone’s surprise, there are marked differences between the two that must be mentioned to better understand how they work and which is more convenient for everyone.
The HD resolution is located on screens of 1280 horizontal pixels by 720 vertical pixels while, as previously mentioned, the Full HD resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. In addition, the characteristics that each one offers are different, for example:
Hd
- You can perceive its pixels in high resolution only if you are at a relatively short distance.
- Being outdated, it is being discontinued and included in new equipment and training formats.
- Its price is low and quite accessible.
- Good resolution ideal for small screens.
Full HD
- Sharp images can be observed at fairly short distances compared to HD resolution.
- It is the latest resolution technology so many entertainment formats are being developed in this format.
- Its price is considered low.
- Resolution twice as high as the HD screen.
Also, the HD resolution only allows you to see its sharpness when they are about 3 meters away on a 50-inch screen. For its part, full HD screens are capable of allowing a distance of 2 meters in the case that it is a 50-inch screen.
Currently, a lot of streaming and entertainment content for mobile, film and television has been developed for Full HD formats. We recommend you to enjoy this type of content from a Full HD resolution since you will have a better and wonderful experience observing sharp images.
In the case of films that involve large landscapes, outer space and adventure, watching the images in Full HD makes the experience much better than you could have imagined. You feel like you’re inside the movie and it can get you better involved with each of the characters. This type of resolution is able to completely catch you and make you have a lot more fun.
FHD 30
Full HD 30 is a term used to combine FPS with Full HD resolution. FPS stands for Frames per second or frames per second. It’s a very common term in video games that has been spreading into the cie and other entertainment media.
We explain. When watching a video, you are actually perceiving is a sequence of accelerated frames that give the impression to your brain that it is perceiving movement. The truth is that you are seeing several still images that are shown in sequence and that speed that is added, is determined by the FPS.
From 12 FPS your brain will begin to perceive movement based on that sequence of photos. In cinema, FPS have become fundamental because they help improve image quality. Currently, movies are recorded at 24 FPS and digital cinema makes use of 30 FPS preferably. This makes the films much better and the viewer can enjoy the whole movie more thoroughly since the image runs perfectly.
FHD 30 refers to an image presentation format that is much more fluid than the previous ones. It allows you to enjoy much smoother side and vertical scrolls making it perfect for watching the fastest scenes from movies.
In this way, enjoying FHD 30 gives you the entrance to a unique experience full of emotion since you can observe even the smallest detail of the characters found in the film. From a small drop of sweat to the movement of a leaf at the bottom of the forest, FHD gives you the opportunity to enjoy it to the fullest.
